Explain what draws you in
Start with one brand and the watch or aspect of watchmaking you want to explore. A reference is helpful if you know it, but a clear description of your interest is enough to begin.
You might be marking a milestone, learning about a complication, or looking for a watch to wear every day. Explain the reason in your own words. There is no need to turn your collection into a résumé.
Include the practical context
Share your preferred location, whether you already know a retailer, and whether your timing is flexible. An existing relationship should be respected, not concealed.
The request form is a private starting point. A suitable connection is considered and consent confirmed before an introduction. Selecting a brand does not mean the society represents it or has an arrangement with it.
Keep expectations clear
An introduction cannot promise stock, a waiting-list position, preferred pricing, or a future allocation. The retailer controls its own decisions. An honest answer about availability can still make the conversation worthwhile.
Membership is free and is built around community and learning. It is not a purchase requirement or an allocation service. Join because you want the conversation and the company.
After the introduction
Respond courteously, keep agreed appointments, and be direct if your interests change. The society’s introducer stays copied on the introduction; you and the retailer then take the conversation forward.
If there is no suitable introduction available, the request may remain unfulfilled. The society will not imply access it does not have.
